The Nightingale (1987)

The Nightingale is an Atkinson Film-Arts TV Special made in 1987.

Storyline

The Emperor of China discovers a beautiful singing bird- the Nightingale. No sooner are the nightingale and the divine, peaceful effects of its voice discovered, when the Emperor of Japan sends a curious present: a mechanical nightingale. This causes an interesting competition and several humiliations for the real nightingale, who no longer feels needed. But one day when the Emperor truly needs a song, the mechanical bird fails. The real nightingale comes to the rescue with a powerful, healing lesson.
