The New Shmoo is a 30-minute Saturday morning animated series based on the character from the Li'l Abner comic strip created by Al Capp, produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and broadcast on NBC from September 22, 1979 to November 15, 1980.

Storyline

Mighty Mystery Comics is a small comic book studio with a staff that includes their bizarre companion, the Shmoo, an ever loving creature who can change his shape into anything he wants. Together, the crew goes to various places to investigate reports of the paranormal for material for their publications. In doing so, the Shmoo and his human friends encounter strange and threatening mysteries against which the Shmoo's powers and his friendly nature prove to be valuable assets.
