The Magic Roundabout is a French/British CGI-animated fantasy TV series that picks up where the 2005 film left off and it ran for two seasons with the overall total of 104 episodes. It is a reboot of the original series.
The series was produced by Action Synthese, Films Action, Ellipsanime and Play Production with the participation of M6, Nickelodeon UK and Disney Television France. ZDF, where the German version also aired, became an additional participator for the second season. The series are directed by Graham Ralph of Silver Fox Films and produced by Theresa Plummer-Andrews. Whilst the series has the new characters returning from the 2005 film, Mr Grimsdale, Coral and Soldier Sam, it introduced new characters such as Fly and Dougal's Auntie Primrose.
The series premiered in the UK on Monday 22 October 2007 on the satellite channel Nick Jr. while the French version of the series also aired a year earlier on M6 - Métropole Television and Disney Junior France.
Every episode will begin with Zebedee appearing at the roundabout and giving a brief summary to the viewers of what will happen before the episode starts. Then every episode would end with Zebedee throwing a party when the problems are solved, with Dylan droopily commenting "I wish it was time for bed, man..." before he drifts off to sleep.
Starting with the second season, when Zebedee throws a party when the problems are solved, he uses his magic to transition from wherever to the village square with all the characters dancing. There'll be a shot focusing on one of the characters who was involved in the story before Dylan droopily says "I wish it was time for bed." before he drifts off to sleep by falling out of the bandstand and into the flowerbed.
