The Lion Guard is a 2016 animated series based on the television movie, "The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar" and the 1994 Disney feature film "The Lion King". produced by Disney Television Animation and Disney Junior, The series premiered on January 15, 2016. The first 2 seasons of this series take place in the middle of The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. However the third and last season takes place after The Lion King II.
