The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! is an animated television series that premiered on August 7, 2010 on Treehouse TV in Canada, on September 6, 2010 on PBS Kids in the US and also in the UK on CITV and Tiny Pop. It also aired on YTV in Canada on weekday mornings from 2012 to 2013.

The award-winning series is based on Random House's Beginner Books franchise and The Cat in the Hat's Learning Library, itself based on the 1957 children's book The Cat in the Hat.

It is produced by Portfolio Entertainment, Random House Children Entertainment and Collingwood O'Hare Productions in conjunction with KQED, Treehouse TV and Kids' CBC.

The first season has 40 half-hour episodes. PBS Kids renewed it for a second season of 20 episodes which premiered on September 10, 2012.

The show went on a three-year hiatus before returning for it's third and final season of 20 episodes, which premiered on March 2, 2018 and ended on October 14, 2018. 80 episodes were produced.

5 specials of the show were also produced. A Christmas special titled "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Christmas!" was released on November 21, 2012. A second special titled "Dr. Seuss' Birthday Cat-ebration!" was made to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday, and was released on March 3, 2014. A nature special titled "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Camping!" was released on July 25, 2016. A Halloween special titled "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Halloween!" was released on October 28, 2016, and a space special titled "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Space!" was released on December 26, 2016.

Storyline[]

Martin Short provides the voice of the title character in this animated series from PBS Kids, which aims to promote children's literacy in science. It follows the magical adventures of 6-year-olds Nick and Sally, who travel the world with the Cat in the Hat as their guide. As they travel in the Cat's customized vehicle, the Thinga-ma-jigger, which can float, fly, drive and even ski, they learn about natural science, visiting the rainforest, the bottom of the sea, and all places in between. They're joined in their travels by the Cat's mop-headed sidekicks, Thing One and Thing Two.
