Space Jam: A New Legacy (also known as Space Jam 2) is an upcoming American live-action/animated sports comedy film directed by Malcolm D. Lee. The film is a sequel to 1996's Space Jam and stars basketball player LeBron James, as well as Don Cheadle, Sonequa Martin-Green and Cedric Joe. The film also features the Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny (who, like with Michael Jordan in the original film, is credited alongside James), Daffy Duck, Tweety, Pepé Le Pew, Marvin the Martian, and many more with Kath Soucie reprising her role as Lola Bunny. James also acts as a producer alongside Ryan Coogler, who co-wrote the script with Sev Ohanian.
Space Jam: A New Legacy is scheduled to be released theatrically and on HBO Max in the United States on July 16, 2021, by Warner Bros. Pictures. It will mark the first theatrically-released film to feature the Looney Tunescharacters since 2003's Looney Tunes: Back in Action, and like the previous hybrid films, it will be a combination of live-action and traditional hand drawn 2D animation with some CGI effects.
