It's merely a collection of Warner Brothers/Hanna-Barbera ricochets that were first made in the 1930's by Warner Bros. Their first use in a Looney Tunes cartoon was in the 1937 cartoon "Porky's Double Trouble"; starting in the 40's, WB used them as their trademark ricochet sounds in the cartoons. Few showed up in some Walter Lantz cartoons of the late-40's and 50's in lower pitches; the ninth ricochet was used in the Famous Studios cartoons, and some ricochet were used in the Terrytoons cartoons since the mid-40's. In the 50's and 60's, other studios like Disney, Hanna-Barbera, Spumco, and more started to use them in their cartoons and movies. Now a days, they are mostly used in modern animated shows, and some like the 3rd ricochet sound, which is used very frequently, namely in Horta Editorial/Hacienda Post projects, are used in few anime shows, notably Aria the Scarlet Ammo and its spin-off Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA, and the 5th ricochet sound is commonly used in any projects, namely the Skywalker Sound projects. It consists of the following sound effects (in this order):
And then it finishes off with the 1st 3 ricochet effects again. |

The reason WB, since 1940, decided to use the ricochet sounds as their trademark in their cartoons for when someone zips out may be that MGM first did that with RICOCHET - CARTOON RICCO 01 and GUN, RICOCHET - SHORT THIN RICOCHET, BULLET 02 since 1939. |
