Slayers is a 2012 American animated adventure comedy fantasy film directed by Masahiro Takeda, and starring Lisa Ortiz, Eric Stuart, Crispin Freeman, Veronica Taylor and Colleen O'Shaughnessey, from the light novel series of the same name by Hajime Kanzaka. The film takes place between Slayers Revolution and Slayers Evolution-R. The film was produced by Lucasfilm, with feature animation by Lucasfilm Animation in association with J.C.Staff, and released by Universal Pictures, and would be the second and last film Lucasfilm releases before being purchased by The Walt Disney Company three months later.

Henry Gilroy wrote the screenplay. Additional material was shot the following year with executive producer George Lucas as director, and John Ridley as writer of the reshoots. To date, Slayers is the third Lucasfilm Animation production that is not part of the Star Wars franchise, predating Strange Magic.

A video game adaptation of the film, titled Slayers: The Video Game, was developed by LucasArts and Valve Corporation and published by Sega on July 4, 2012.

Plot

Having lost the Sword of Light in the previous battle, Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev continue their journey in search of a replacement weapon. On the way, the two of them meet up with Ameria Wil Tesla Saillune and Zelgadiss Graywords in the kingdom of Luvinagard while taunting some pirates. Lina is happy to reunite with her old friends, but appearing before her is Luvinagard's Inspector of the Special Investigative Unit; a man called Wizer Freion. However, Lina is amazed at his unusual behavior...

To find a way in rescuing Pokota's country Taforashia which was sealed by Rezo, Lina and her group are in search for the Hellmaster's jar in what the Red Priest placed his soul after death. Zelgadis is willing to do anything to get the jar for changing back into a human while Zuuma is plotting on revenge and accomplishing assignment in killing Lina. Still a big mystery for her and the others is what Xellos is aiming for in this battle.
