Sing 2 is a 2021 American computer-animated jukebox musical comedy film produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures. The sequel to the 2016 film Sing; the film was written and directed by Garth Jennings and stars Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Nick Kroll, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, Nick Offerman and Jennings himself, reprising their roles from the first film. The sequel also features new characters voiced by Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, Eric André, Chelsea Peretti, and Bono.
Like the previous film; Sing 2 features songs from many artists, most of which are performed diegetically.
Sing 2 had its world premiere at the AFI Fest on November 14, 2021, and was released in the United States on December 22, 2021 in RealD 3D, by Universal Pictures. The film has mixed reviews from critics received.
Skywalker Sound provided the post-production sound services: Dennis Leonard is the Supervising Sound Editor, but this time Josh Gold is the Sound Designer (successor to Steve Boeddeker). Benjamin A. Burtt and Lucas Miller are the Sound Effects Editors; Devon Kelley is the Assistant Supervising Sound Editor; Foley Editor Shaun Farley is an uncredited Sound Editor; Jonathon Stevens is a Foley Editor; Erin Grote is the Sound Effects Assistant, and Margie O'Malley and Kimberly Patrick are the Foley Artists.
