Rembrandt Films

Rembrandt Films is a Czech production company founded by American film producer William L. Snyder in 1949. It began as an importer of films from Europe and expanded into animated film production.

Summary[]

Rembrandt Films' productions include the Oscar-winning short Munro, the Nudnik series, and animated adaptations of children's books, including Anatole, Madeline, and Many Moons, which were included in the 1966 compilation film Alice of Wonderland in Paris. Rembrandt collaborated with Halas and Batchelor to produce some of the episodes of the Popeye the Sailor television series in the early 1960s.

The company produced 13 Tom and Jerry cartoons, all directed by Gene Deitch. The cartoons were produced for and distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
