Naoto Yamatani (山谷尚人 Yamatani Naoto) is a sound effects designer/editor who is best known for his work on anime series such as Himouto! Umaru-chan, Love Lab, Napping Princess (2017), Yuru Yuri, etc. He currently works at Sound Box.
Yamatani is very fond of using the Hanna-Barbera and Cartoon Trax libraries, especially in the field of animation for comedic sequences. Bizarrely enough, he has used Sound Ideas, ZIP, CARTOON - BIG WHISTLE ZING OUT (and its variation H-B ZIP, CARTOON - SWISH AND ZING) for camera pans in Yuru Yuri and its sequels. On some occasions, he does use Series 6000, Series 4000, and Premiere Edition Volume 1, sometimes to prevent overuse of certain cartoon sounds.
