iMovie is a video editing software application developed by Apple Inc. for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS devices. It was originally released in 1999 as a Mac OS 8 application bundled with the first FireWire-enabled consumer Mac model – the iMac DV. Since version 3, iMovie has been a macOS-only application included with the iLife suite of Mac applications. iMovie was included for free with the purchase of a new Mac or iOS device in late 2013, and has been free to all users since early 2017.

Sound Effects Used

This app mainly uses sounds from The General Series 6000, + Extension I and Extension II, Just Birds & Animals I, Series 4000, Series 7000, Series 9000, Series 11,000, Series 12,000, Audience Reactions I and Jurassic Dinosaurs, as well as minor selections from The Premiere Edition Volume 1. Most of the sounds from those libraries were included in the XV Series 1 Sound Effects library, which was the sound library that this app used. This app also used sounds from Elements Café.

NOTE: The names of the sound effects from both the iOS and macOS versions of the application are placed next to the sounds' official names to improve clarity and understanding. Not every sound from the library appears in this list, either because it couldn't be identified or its name was too vague.
