This sound was recorded in July 29, 1984 by Dale Johnston in Valencia, California. 2 years later, it made its first appearance in the 1986 New Line Cinema film, Critters. It was also a Soundfirm SFX. On August 13, 1990, The Hollywood Edge picked up this sound and added it to The Premiere Edition Volume 1 library. In 2014, after the bankruptcy of The Hollywood Edge, Sound Ideas took over to acquire this sound.
