Storyline[]
A midquel story set during Hercules' time training to be a hero under Philoctetes, the series follows Hercules in his initial battles against Hades and other villains such as Circe and Echidna. He is joined by eccentric inventor Icarus and depressed prophet Cassandra, and much like the movie it was based on, the series is an occasional musical.
The series made heavy usage of Hanna-Barbera's sound library, especially toward the end of the series' run. It was notable for even using some of the more cartoony sounds on typically dignified characters such as Hades and Megara, to amusing effect.
