It was used in Walt Disney's short films and features, before Hanna-Barbera picked it up in 1963. It would later make its way to other studios like Warner Bros. It is one of the most common cartoon strike sounds used in media today. A shortened edit is included as part of SLIDE WHISTLE DOWN AND SHORT BONK. There is also the original Disney version of the sound.
