This sound effect debuted in 2008, and was originally made for Apple Inc's Logic Pro where it was labeled as the "Andrewhelm Scream". It was used for a viral video of a sheep screaming which was uploaded to YouTube on April 9th, 2012.

Trivia

A Reddit user on the subreddit r/CaptainDisillusion accidentally debunked the screaming sheep video, and found the original scream.
